Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has pulled its wraps from the Redmi 5A. It’s dubbed as ‘Desh ka smartphone’ by the company to indicate that it is made in India. The latest device called “ Redmi 5A “. It’s the successor of the Redmi 4A.
Redmi 5A comes equipped with a 5-inch (720 x 1280 pixels) HD IPS LCD display alongside the Reading Mode that blocks the blue light.
RAM & Storage
The device was packed with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC with a CPU clocked at up to 1.4 GHz, along with an Adreno 308 GPU to handle graphics-intensive tasks.
Redmi 5A comes in two variants. One is packed with 2GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage. The other one comes with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage. Also, Xiaomi has given a dedicated microSD card slot which expands the storage up to 256 GB.
Redmi 5A comes with a 13-Megapixel primary camera with f/2.2 and Phase Detection Auto Focus. The front camera unit is a 5-Megapixel sensor with f/2.2 aperture.
OS & Battery
The device runs on MIUI 9 based on Android Nougat 7.0. It is powered by a 3,000 mAh non-removable lithium-ion battery, which is claimed to offer a standby time of 8 days.
On the connectivity side, the device supports Dual SIM, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot, Bluetooth v4.1 with A2DP, 4G VoLTE and IR blaster.
Pricing & Availability
The devices will be available at Mi.com, Mi offline Stores, and Flipkart. Apart from that Xiaomi has also partnered with offline retailers like Sangeeta, Poorvika, Univercell, and eZone.
Xiaomi Redmi 5A will be available in Dark Grey, Gold, and Rose Gold. The company has priced 2GB RAM/16GB Storage and 3GB RAM/32GB Storage priced at Rs 4,999 and Rs 6,999 respectively.
